If Dr. Flanders seems naturally at ease with children, it might be because she has plenty of practice. She is a proud aunt to over 25 nieces and nephews (and counting)! Before specializing in dentistry, she taught children with special needs abroad, an experience that shaped her philosophy of treating the whole child, not just their teeth.

After earning her Biology degree from Texas A&M and completing her Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, she dedicated her career to providing minimally invasive, compassionate care. She has a special heart for patients with special healthcare needs and works hard to ensure every child feels safe in her chair.

Outside the office, you can find Dr. Flanders on the pickleball court with her brothers, training for half-marathons with her sisters, or writing and illustrating stories for her massive tribe of nieces and nephews.

Sofia is our go-to expert for turning nervous frowns into relieved smiles. Born and raised right here in East Texas, Sofia understands that the dentist can be scary for little ones. That’s why she views her job as more than just cleaning teeth. She’s here to help children overcome their fears!

For her, the moment a child realizes the appointment wasn’t scary at all is her favorite part. She also lives for the excitement on their faces when they pick out a prize at the end of a visit.

Outside of the office, Sofia loves life with her husband, Miguel, and their two daughters, Natalie and Isabelle. You’ll usually find her cheering them on at school sporting events.

Our skilled Dental Assistant, Daniel, has been bringing energy and expertise to Tyler Pediatric Dentistry since joining the team. Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, Daniel’s journey into dentistry began with his service in the U.S. Navy. During his five years at Naval Hospital Rota in Spain, he gained hands-on experience in every aspect of dental care before discovering his true passion—pediatric dentistry.

Outside of work, Daniel is passionate about music. He plays multiple instruments—including tuba, guitar, bass, trombone, and double bass—and records and mixes music for his band, which specializes in Mexican corrido-style songs. He also gives back to the community by playing guitar in the church choir at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Fridays and Sundays.

His dental philosophy? There’s always a standard way of doing things, but with experience and great mentors, you can find even better ways to provide exceptional care.

Our dedicated Insurance Coordinator, Blanca, has been an essential part of Tyler Pediatric Dentistry for the past two years. A longtime resident of Tyler, Texas, Blanca has called this community home for over 30 years. Her passion for helping others led her to the dental field, where she finds fulfillment in guiding patients through the insurance process and ensuring they receive the care they need. She graduated from Tyler Junior College in 2010 and has since built a career focused on patient support and financial coordination.

At the office, Blanca verifies insurance benefits, submits treatment estimates, processes claims, and assists patients with statements and balances. She loves working in a positive environment with a great team, and the most rewarding part of her job is helping patients navigate their insurance with ease.

Outside of work, Blanca enjoys spending time with her husband, going to the movies, and exploring her creative side through painting, crafting, crocheting, and baking beautifully decorated cakes. Her philosophy? Treat every patient with the same care and attention you would give to family and friends.
